3 AXIS MOTION CONTROL
Digital motion control is a key component of the Multifab personal fabrication tool. This set of boards receives motion instructions over the fabnet network, and converts them into precisely timed pulses of electricity which causes the attached stepper motors to rotate. Up to three motors can be controlled simultaneously with this controller. Additional axes can be added by plugging them into the fabnet.
One complete motion control set consists of one three-axis controller board (076-001), and three driver boards (076-002 or 076-003). A low-current driver board (076-002) is based on the Allegro A3967 driver chip, and can provide 750mA/phase with 8-microstep resolution. A higher-current board (076-003), based on the Allegro A3982, can provide 2A/phase with half-stepping.
